Reserving a Date and Time

No University affiliation is required to reserve a wedding at Heinz Chapel.
Heinz Chapel is non-denominational and not affiliated with any religious group.
ALL are welcome to be married at Heinz Chapel.

Please note that Heinz Memorial Chapel will undergo external renovations to its spire through June 2023. This restoration is essential for the long-term preservation of this historic, treasured structure. The work will occur on the outside of the building and will not interfere with your wedding or event. Please email any questions to

Reservations may be made two years in advance by emailing the Chapel office at New months beyond two years are available beginning at midnight on the first of the month for that month. All emails are answered in the order received.

Reservations must be made at least two months in advance.

Reservation Process:
Email with your requested date and time and the required information below. You may include one alternate date. Once we have confirmed your date and time, we will send you our license agreement. Following your review and signature, we will set up an appointment to take your full payment via credit card.

Required Information:
The couple's full names (first name, middle initial and last name).
The couple's mailing address(es).
A cellular telephone number for each.
Email addresses for each.
The year of graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, if applicable.
Information for military discount if applicable (see below).

Site Tours:
Due to University Covid-19 restrictions, Heinz Chapel is not currently open to drop-in visitors who are not University students or staff. To schedule a wedding tour, either virtual or in-person, email and we will be happy to coordinate that with you.

Rescheduling and Cancelations

Requests for a rescheduled date/time received less than 180 days prior to the scheduled wedding will be charged a $250 change fee.  A confirmed wedding date may be rescheduled only one time.

If you cancel within 30 days of your reservation date, you can receive a refund minus a $250 handling fee. Any cancellations made after 30 days are non-refundable. To cancel, email the Chapel office.


The fee for weddings at Heinz Memorial Chapel is $1,500.  The full fee is charged to your credit card at the time of reservation.  The reservation fee covers two on-site staff coordinators and an organist at your scheduled ceremony as well as reserved parking on your wedding day.

Alumni Discount

There is a 15% discount if either of the couple holds a degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Discounts cannot be combined.

Military Discount

There is a 15% discount for current or former military applicants.  A copy of the Common Access Card (CAC, current military) or DD Form 214 (former military) must
be provided.
Discounts cannot be combined.
